Provider Compensation and Compliance service line partners with hospitals and health systems to design, evaluate, and implement provider compensation strategies that are strategically aligned, financially sustainable, and compliant with regulatory requirements. We help organizations navigate increasing provider compensation pressure, evolving reimbursement models, and heightened regulatory scrutiny through a data-driven, advisory-led approach.
Our work supports physician and advanced practice provider compensation across employed and independent arrangements, including compensation model design and redesign, Fair Market Value and Commercial Reasonableness assessments, and ongoing compliance program support. Our approach emphasizes aligning compensation incentives with organizational strategy, quality, access, and value-based care objectives, while ensuring compensation arrangements are defensible, transparent, and market-competitive.
Position Summary
As a Consultant , you’ll be an important part of our Provider Compensation and Compliance delivery team. You will work collaboratively with our Provider Compensation and Compliance delivery team to develop client opportunities, engage clients on their needs and be a part of the day-to-day service delivery team that ensures successful outcomes for our clients.
Responsibilities for this Role Include:
• Lead and support multiple provider compensation and compliance engagements, including compensation model design, implementation, and fair market value/commercial reasonableness evaluations.
• Develop high-quality client deliverables (e.g., presentations and FMV reports) and confidently present analyses, findings, and recommendations to client stakeholders.
• Manage day-to-day project execution, including timelines, workplans, and coordination across workstreams, while maintaining quality, accuracy, and responsiveness.
• Serve as a trusted client resource by independently triaging client needs, providing compliant solutions, and managing ongoing client relationships.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and mentoring to analyst and junior staff, supporting team development and consistent delivery standards.
• Contribute to service line growth through product development, process improvement, and participation in business development and marketing initiatives.
Ideal Characteristics:
• Demonstrated expertise in provider compensation and compliance, including employed provider compensation models and a range of transactional and incentive-based arrangements.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with hands-on experience using healthcare compensation, productivity, and operational benchmark data to support defensible conclusions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex analyses and recommendations to diverse audiences.
• Solid understanding of provider compensation compliance requirements, including fair market value and commercial reasonableness standards and valuation principles.
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team and adhering to internal standards for processes and deliverables.
• High personal accountability, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to quality, timeliness, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications: Required
• 3–5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare management consulting and/or provider compensation, compliance, and valuation services.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with demonstrated ability to produce client-ready deliverables.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop defensible analyses and clear recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to client stakeholders.
• Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple engagements and workstreams while maintaining quality, accuracy, and responsiveness.
• Working knowledge of provider compensation compliance concepts, including fair market value and commercial reasonableness, and related regulatory considerations.
Preferred
• Experience with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, and Tableau Online.
• Master’s degree in business, Healthcare, Finance, or Accounting; CPA or CVA certification strongly considered.
